The Indonesian Deputy Minister of Trade, Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri, paid a visit to the Kampoeng Indonesia Hotel, located in the Al Bukhari Memorial Complex area in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on June 19. During the visit, she was accompanied by the Secretary of the Directorate General of International Trade Negotiations, Danang Prasta Danial, as well as the Indonesian Trade Attaché based in New Delhi.

On that occasion, Deputy Minister Roro Esti expressed her appreciation for EGI Resources’ business expansion strategy in Uzbekistan, particularly through the development of the Kampoeng Indonesia Hotel in Samarkand. In addition to this hotel, EGI Resources is also currently preparing two other hotels, rated 3-star and 5-star respectively, which are scheduled to be inaugurated in September 2026.

Furthermore, the government, through the Ministry of Trade, affirmed its commitment to strengthening EGI Resources’ business ecosystem in Uzbekistan. One of the primary focuses is boosting the export of Indonesian products—particularly in the HORECA (hotel, restaurant, and cafe) sector—to the Uzbekistan market. This effort will also be driven by accelerating high-level free trade agreement negotiations between Indonesia and Uzbekistan, which are planned to take place in Samarkand.
