Following His Pilgrimage to Imam Bukhari’s Tomb, Muzani Visits the Kampoeng Indonesia Hotel in Samarkand

The Chairman of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI), Ahmad Muzani, along with a delegation of MPR members, leaders of Islamic boarding schools, clerics, and prominent figures from Islamic organizations, made a pilgrimage to the tomb of Imam Bukhari in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on Friday (July 3). The visit was part of a series of agendas aimed at strengthening the relationship between Indonesia and Uzbekistan, as well as reinforcing the long-standing historical and religious bonds between the two nations.

Following the pilgrimage, Ahmad Muzani and his entourage continued their visit to the Kampoeng Indonesia Hotel, located within the Imam Bukhari shrine complex area. The three-star hotel is one of Indonesia’s investments in Uzbekistan and is managed by the company EGI Resources. The presence of this hotel is expected to serve as a supporting facility for Indonesian tourists and pilgrims visiting Samarkand.

On that occasion, Ahmad Muzani and his delegation enjoyed a luncheon at the Kampoeng Indonesia Hotel. He expressed his appreciation for the flavors of the dishes served, noting that they successfully presented authentic Indonesian cuisine right in the middle of Uzbekistan’s religious tourism area. Furthermore, Muzani also commended the hotel’s ambiance, which he felt truly captured an Indonesian atmosphere, thereby providing a sense of comfort for guests, particularly Indonesians visiting Imam Bukhari’s tomb.
